And now from the realm of you have to be fucking kidding me…

As seen on the internet

1.”The Texas Senate passed a controversial bill on Tuesday that critics argue would empower doctors to lie to pregnant women.

Senate Bill 25, which will now be sent to the Texas House, prevents parents from suing their medical provider if their baby is born with disabilities, even if that doctor discovered the condition during routine prenatal testing and failed to inform the parents.”

2. The senate just voted to undo rules covering your internet privacy

3. The Senate voted 52-47 to remove protections for wildlife in Alaska. The bill overturns protections for wildlife in our National Wildlife Refuges in Alaska. One protection these bills overturn is allowing the killing of wolf pups and bear cubs in and around their dens, even by means of gassing dens. It also allows “hunters” to use aircraft to hunt bears.

4. A republican senator ridiculed women with breast cancer. A Kansas republican senator apparently thinks women’s health care is a joke… (I think they each deserve a mailbox full of bras.)

5. Not. A. Single. Woman. Was. At. The. White. House. Meeting. On. Women’s. Health.

6. Oklahoma state representative says rape and incest are the will of God. Oh, please tar and feather this guy!

And those are just the highlights from yesterday.

More things to rant over

Has anyone noticed the ‘natural gas’ ads that claim they are good for the ecology and all?

Did you also notice that the ads are Exxon/Mobil ads? Oh, yes they are. Look at the last few seconds of the ads and you’ll see Exxon/Mobil owns the ads.

Yes, big oil wants you to support them and forget that they are the biggest enemy of our delicate ecology. Think fracking, their desire to drill in our public lands without regulation, and the pipelines…mustn’t forget those nasty, polluting things.

Their ads are banned in the UK.

A letter to all nations

Dear World,

I wish to apologize for every faux pas and idiotic statement the #notmypotus #Cheetoincharge #Whitehouserat has made.

I did not vote for the moron and I feel that you all deserve to know that most of us are embarrassed that he even exists.

The fact that he actually garnered enough support to get as far as he did makes me want to apologize for those imbeciles who did vote for him and caused so much pain for the rest of us.

The Cretin in charge and all his billionaire con artist buddies are a blight on our country.

Help. I need asylum …preferably on a beach somewhere.

Sincerely,

The edge of 63

As a young woman, it never occurred to me that I’d have so much to worry about when I got older. Hell, 63 years of age to me was OLD and an age I’d probably not reach.

Well, here I am, teetering on the edge of 63.

Now, I worry about our Social Security getting raped by the Republicans, not to mention the pillaging of Medicare, affordable healthcare, and so many other things.

Seems the Republicans enjoy playing reverse Robin Hood and they steal from the poor to line the pockets of the rich.

When I was young, I didn’t have health problems and a need for life saving drugs.

When I was young, my husband hadn’t yet been diagnosed with MS. (Need I mention ALL the drugs he needs to make it through a day?)

When I was young, I quit my job on more than one occasion to go 2,000 miles away from my husband (who was still in good health) to care for my baby sister, not worrying about hours needed for medicare and time lost with a healthy husband.

At least that floor is clean…

The dogs had tracked in so much mud it had to be done. I can’t believe that it took me an entire day yesterday to mop the kitchen floor. I used to get every floor in this house mopped in that amount of time.

This is what happens when your back gets wrecked by a Curmudgeon and two dogs.

Anyway, today I am wearing red and not lifting a finger. I am on strike.

Save the EPA

In case you weren’t around then like I was. Or if you’ve forgotten…

Thank the orange troll when it returns to this.

What happened to that utopian future to which we looked to with such hope?

In my idealistic youth, I thought when I hit this age our world would be this utopia depicted by fiction writers.

I mean the year 2017 was so far off and strange sounding that it was a time of mythic inventions, miraculous cures for disease, equality for all, and no worries.

Well, it is so far from the truth it is frightening.

Instead we have a rise in bigotry, misogyny, stealth thefts of social security and medical aid by our own government, the EPA raped and pillaged so we can have dirty air and water like we had back in my idealistic youth.

The endangered species act tossed aside so their homes are available for pillaging by land grabbing, greedy people.

People are becoming more violent towards each other because the government aka Twitler, the orange troll, the idiot in charge, The Tweeto Bandito (I love that one) condones it! Hell, the fat man with tiny hands encourages it!

Oh, to be back in my idealistic youth knowing all about what is to come. I’d not do this life over the same way. I’d be hitchhiking to the sweetest, small beach town I could find and make it my home.

SOS… this country is in trouble

The orange troll, the bilious billionaire, the nutcase in office, the man who would be king, the man who should be committed, not my potus, the child-handed, weird rug wearing jerk needs impeaching.

This idiot of the highest caliber has his finger on the red buttons of nuclear launches.

This child-man has the temperament of a sleep deprived three year old.

Wake the hell up people and take him down. Put him in a rubber room. Better yet …a jail cell.

Survey says….

And so it begins…with local politics now.

Usually we screen our calls. (Yes, if you call here and don’t speak to my answering machine you will not get me.)

I decided to answer a called marked Denver that had a phone # for shits and grins and found it to be a young man taking a political survey.

LOL!!!

Now, how many times do you think I cracked that young man up during the survey with my observations on politics today?

Especially when he asked my opinion on the orange troll and his cronies…

suppose

Oh for Pete’s sake…

Can we not get through a single day without the buffoon in charge causing us more embarrassment?

Probably not.

Who am I?

I know who I was.

I know I have changed.

Used to be I’d wake up, read my newspaper, and drink a cup of coffee. Then I’d scramble and get things done and go to work.

Then we started to have delivery problems, and collection problems, until I finally had enough and called the paper to cancel my subscription.

Then The Curmudgeon’s health went to hell and I had to become his caregiver instead of his partner, wife, lover, and friend.

My routine became watching the news while gulping down my morning coffee after taking care of him and the dogs.

That too stopped. I don’t remember when but I quit watching the news. I could no longer take the violence and stupidity. I also no longer had the time or the patience to sit still and watch it.

Yeah, watching the news these days takes patience. ‘Alternative truths’ really tick me off. When I start yelling at newscasters and politicians for telling lies, and let us please call them what they are, LIES, I know I have to stop and change the channel.

I’ve stopped writing my books, no time for them, and my mind is too cluttered with everything else I need to remember. Like what pills The Curmudgeon takes and when. Not mixing up the dog’s medications, and remembering to take my own.

I have enough to do just to keep this house semi-running. I can’t spend a lot of time writing for pleasure.

I miss writing for pleasure, but when I have to go on the computer to fact check newscasters and politicians, I know I need to start writing more like this and less like the mystery writer I wish to be.

I know my rebellion would make my father proud. He always did call me his little rebel.

This is who I am now… rebel, caregiver, disorganized housekeeper, poor blogger, and a slave to two dogs.

Oh, and if you don’t like my blog, don’t read it.

In memory of what we’ve lost

As a country we’ve lost the respect of those who were our allies.

We’ve lost allies.

We’ve lost a sane government that is actually of the people, by the people, and for the people. The majority of the people in this country are not billionaires or millionaires. The people running the government have no idea what we are all about.

We’ve lost friends over the divisions created by the orange troll and his cronies.

Racism, narcissism, misogyny, churlish and childish behavior have no place in the White House.

We’ve lost reality, lies are lies they are not alternative facts.

We’ve lost our checks and balances. No one is reining the idiot in and he is definitely unbalanced.

We need to stop losing things like rights, public lands, and more and start getting them back.

Resist! Rebel! Stand your ground!
