My blog my opinions

If you don’t like what I have to say, go away. I don’t have to allow your poisonous and certifiable clap trap on my blog.

You see I have control over my blog. I didn’t invite your opinion on my thoughts. I didn’t twist your arm to get you to read my blog.

If you must express such bigoted rhetoric do it on your own blog.

I am sure your little band of trump trolls have better things to do. See, I already voted for Biden and I encourage all people with more than two brain cells to rub together to do the same.

Have a nice day!

I effing hate the changes done to WordPress!!!!

I find the changes made to WordPress have made it much more difficult to use, less intuitive, and a royal pain in the ass.

I am looking for a way to move the entirety of my content to a different platform because this is now a giant piece of crap to use.

It isn’t easier by a long shot.

I used to love posting on my blog. Now I dread having to do a post, much less typing it up, and getting it out there.

WordPress, you are losing people right and left.

If anyone can tell me how to download and save all my content I’d REALLY appreciate it.

I wanna leave but I don’t want to lose my stuff here, there are posts and pictures I can’t bear to lose.

RIP RBG!

Our justice system has been compromised. With Ruth Bader Ginsberg gone, we are broken.

Barr is rubbing his hands together gleefully as is the Orange Psychopath. Mitch is creaming his drawers and Pence has peed his pants a little.

Dear Ruth,

We know you tried to hang in there for all of our sakes. You went above and beyond for We The People. We still need you, so please watch over us and protect us from he who would be dictator.

Sincerely,

A great number of the American People

There is no literature or poetry in this White House.
No music.

There are no pets in this White House.
No loyal man’s best friend. No Socks the family cat.

No kids’ science fairs.

No times when this president takes off his blue suit-red tie uniform and becomes human, except when he puts on his white shirt-khaki pants uniform and hides from Americans to
play golf.

There are no images of the first family enjoying themselves together in a moment of relaxation.

No Obamas on the beach in Hawaii moments, or Bushes fishing in Kennebunkport, no Reagans on horseback, no Kennedys playing touch football on the Cape. my
I was thinking the other day of the summer when George H couldn’t catch a fish and all the grandkids made signs and
counted the fish-less days.
And somehow, even if you didn’t even like GHB, you got caught up in the joy of a family that loved each other and had fun.
Where did that country go?
Where did all of the fun and joy and expressions of love and happiness go?
We used to be a country that did the ice bucket challenge and raised millions for charity.
We used to have a president that calmed and soothed the nation instead dividing it.
And a First Lady that planted a garden instead of ripping one out.

We are rudderless and joyless.
We have lost the cultural aspects of society that make America great.
We have lost our mojo, our fun, our happiness.
The cheering on of others. Gone.
The shared experiences of humanity that makes it all worth it. Gone.
The challenges AND the triumphs that we shared and celebrated.
The unique can-do spirit Americans have always been known for. Gone.
We have lost so much in so short a time.”

It’s become an ugly country in a few short years. Friend turning against friend. I know at least one who has. Do you?

Hurricane Sally fizzled.

Problem is, I worked my ass off dragging all the plants in from the front porch. It was almost time to do it anyway but I hated to they all did so well over the summer.

I have glue!

My new bottle of wood glue arrived a day early. Fantastic. I might be able to put the over the toilet storage unit together.

However, the two dirty vodka martinis beg to differ. I didn’t drink them until after 4 this afternoon. The glue arrived at five.

At least I didn’t have to cook dinner, my neighbor graciously supplied that. She makes wings better than I, so I give her my butcher box wings, and she gives me cooked ones. This way we both benefit.

I might be able to glue all the dowels in on one side and have everything ready to put together in one go around tomorrow.

That sounds like a plan…

Best laid plans?

A couple days ago, I had planned to put this together:

However, the day before, I had planted a bunch of Iris plants. The mere effort of removing the parts from the box had my back screaming in pain. I quit planning to do it.

I decided to do it the following day, but that fell through because I had to go pick up a prescription and it took enough time to make me change plans. Again.

Today I thought, “yes, I can get that done today!”

Nope. My wood glue was dried up. I had no glue for the dowels.

Here it sits. For the want of glue.

So I’ve read the instructions repeatedly. I already put one together for the Master bathroom several months ago. This should be a piece of cake… Monday… when the glue gets here.

The mornings are cooler

I had two fans installed on my front porch. They make a great deal of difference. My porch is lovely for sitting on now. Before, it was nice but I seldom got a breeze, and when temperatures soared, I couldn’t enjoy the porch. Now, even on the hottest days, I can sit out there and be comfortable.

This morning is a cool 69 degrees, the fans are on low to merely stir the air.

I’m watching Cardinals, mockingbirds, brown thrashers, and bluebirds. Yes, honest to God real bluebirds. I haven’t seen them since I was a kid.

Oh, the birds we have around here. Blue jays, wrens by the dozens, titmice, phoebes, at least 4 different types of woodpeckers, blackbirds, crows, red winged blackbirds, vultures, hawks, and my beloved hummingbirds. I know there are many more I haven’t listed, but these are what I have seen and heard this morning alone.

I am glad I moved here. My new home makes me happy.

Now, before it gets too warm or rains, I have 14 Iris to get in the ground. I’m thinking about around the birdbath…
